Red Tent + Kava Ceremony at Two Dog Farms

Join Ali Pinion and Mandi Sanders at beautiful Two Dog Farms in Flora, MS for a Red Tent and Kava Ceremony. We will gather in the lovely home of our host, Dot Killen, at Two Dog Farms on Saturday, August 17th from 3-6 pm. Red Tents are sacred spaces for women to come together in sacred community to share wisdom and build conscious community. After hosting Red Tents in their community for several years, Ali and Mandi have answered the call to travel with their Red Tent offerings. We will welcome everyone into our time together with a Red Tent history and background, so no prior knowledge or experience is required. We ask that you come with the intention of entering sacred space with an open heart and mind ready to receive the blessings and gifts that come when women gather together in ceremony. As part of this Red Tent, we are offering a Guided Plant Spirit Medicine Ceremony with Sacred Kava. Traditional to the people of Oceania, this sacred plant medicine is relaxing and simply just fun! We will cultivate a ceremony that centers on the medicine of love & laughter that Kava offers us. Kava is ancestral and communal medicine. We will journey with Sound Activation into a meditative space where this medicine can be embodied within the collective consciousness in this circle of women. Your guides are looking forward to creating a safe and comfortable space for anyone with resonating with this intention, so that you may step in, right where you are, with no prior experience necessary.

Spots are limited and will likely sell out quickly. We are intentionally keeping the numbers smaller to be mindful of holding space for our first ceremony in the Jackson metro area. Reserve your spot by purchasing your ticket today! We can not offer refunds in the event you are unable to attend, however, we can transfer to someone else (you handling the transaction & letting us know the person’s name) or assist your transfer by offering it to the next person on our waiting list.

What to do to prepare for the ceremony?

The days before, begin to be mindful of your dreams and what is going on your life in and around you. Write it down, take more time than usual for yourself, and begin to shift into awareness of the time together that is coming preparing your body with nourishing simple foods, and your mind and spirit with rest, awareness and connection. The day of please eat simple, light but nourishing foods. Don’t come hungry, yet also do not be stuffed full. Ideally, caffeine intake is limited or not at all leading up to the ceremony. Drink plenty of water before, during, and after. Kava is relaxing in an uplifting way, but needs lots of water in the system to not over burden the liver. Be sure to bring a journal and something to write with as well as your water bottle. In it’s traditional culture, kava is consumed safely by everyone including pregnant and breastfeeding women. We will be preparing the traditional root beverage in this same way, however, if you have concerns, please email or speak with Mandi beforehand. The option to drink a half dose is always available. And as a skilled herbalist and plant medicine ceremonialist, Mandi can work with you to still enjoy kava medicine in a way that is appropriate. We will have time to write, process, and share, but the medicine will continue to work and ripple out in the days following. We encourage you to continue being mindful of dreams, meditations, and waking life and capturing your experience in your journal.
